Luckily for South Pointe residents, we are located within close proximity to many outstanding facilities. In fact, residents are just eight minutes from South Baldwin Regional Medical Center, five minutes from Foley Family Practice, and within minutes from a wide variety of the area’s options when it comes to dental care. Stop by The Fudgery for a sweet treat or grab a bite at Rock N Roll Sushi; the options are never-ending! Foley is home to OWA, a relatively new 14-acre amusement park. This park features shops and entertainment, with events and frequent live performances from standup comedy to magic shows. The park itself features 22 rides, with options for both thrill-seekers and children alike. Other attractions in Foley include the Foley Railroad Museum, home to model trains, historical memorabilia and a train that offers rides throughout the year. The Foley Art Center is another local attraction that inspires its guests with works from over 150 featured artists from around the southeast. Of course, the beach is another huge attraction, and Foley residents are only 10 miles away from white sandy shores and natural islands. With the ability to kayak, swim, fish and relax at the beach so close to home, the coastal life you’ve dreamed of has never been more achievable.

We all want to feel comfort and ease when we return home at the end of the day, and feeling at home is important regardless of whether you plan to stay for a year or ten years. Here are a few things you can do to make your space feel like home!
Decorate Your Space
The easiest way to feel at home in any space is to make it your own. Unpack your boxes, get your decorations up on the wall and start to feel it come together. Speak with your property manager to find out what’s allowed and then jazz things up a little with changes like new curtains, new hardware or even removable wallpaper. Hang wall art, add curtains, get a few plants and make your apartment the space you want to come back to every evening.
Add and Arrange Furniture
Sometimes a solution to help make your apartment feel more like home is to add or arrange furniture. Maybe your space is missing something and you just can’t put your finger on what it may be. Try adding an accent chair or rearranging the furniture you already have in a different way. Adding a subtle piece of furniture in the corner of a room or simply swapping the couch and recliner can make an immediate and noticeable difference.

What Our Residents Have To Say
What Steps to Take When Trying to Get an Apartment
The process of picking a new apartment and getting everything in order can be long and tedious. If you’re looking to rent an apartment, there are a number of things you will need to do before you can get the keys in your hand and unpack your boxes.
Set a Budget
Not only is it important that you have the budget for your rent, but you have to make sure you qualify for the apartment. Most apartment communities will require you to make between 2-3x the rent per month. If you are sharing your apartment with a roommate or a partner, you can count both incomes towards this amount.
Pick a Community
It’s important to like the community you are living in. Make sure it’s close to the things you want to be close to, such as shopping and businesses and has all the amenities you are looking for. You will also want to make sure the community fits your lifestyle. For example, if you have a pet or wish to get a pet in the future, you will want to make sure the apartment community you select is pet friendly.
Pick a Floor Plan
You will need to select a floor plan that fits your budget, your space needs and your style before signing a lease. Check with the leasing agents at the community to make sure they have what you need available for your desired move-in time.
Get Your Paperwork in Order
The application process differs from community to community, but you will need to provide some basic paperwork when applying for an apartment. Make sure you have all this paperwork in order and on hand so there are no hold-ups in your application process.
Some standard paperwork or information you will be asked for include, proof of income for all residents, past rental history and an application fee.
Fill Out An Application
Now it’s time to fill out the application. Speak with a leasing agent to find out how to go about submitting your application. Make sure you read it completely and all applications fill out the forms properly.
If there’s an issue with the application, don’t be afraid to ask what options. For example, if you don’t quite meet some of the requirements it doesn’t mean you’re out of luck. You might have the option to pay an extra deposit, get a guarantor or rely on your credit to help you secure the apartment.
Sign the Lease
Once you’ve filled out your application and been approved it’s time to make it official. Signing your lease might require you to provide more paperwork like car registration, renters insurance or pet vaccine information. Make sure to ask your leasing agent what you will need to complete the lease.
You will also want to make sure you read the lease thoroughly and save a copy for your files to refer to should you have any questions during your stay.
Move-In!
You’ve signed the lease and have the keys in hand. Now it’s time to move and enjoy your new place.
